Use a ruler to block off edges of artwork.
Sketch your drawing. You must include at least TWO images relating to your prompt.
Illustrate your sketch. Remember your options in line types and make sure to erase your pencil lines after illustrating.
Lay down your first layer. This should be a very de-saturated layer also known as a WASH.
The work shown has 5 LAYERS. Mix colors, let the watercolor bleed, and use a clean-ish brush to blend or move the color around.
With a sharpie or pen write your name and date somewhere on your work.
Cut off the extra white paper from your artwork and glue it to a frame. Your frame can have straight or curved edges.
Cut the extra white paper off your printed museum tag and glue it to an appropriately sized frame.
1. Make color puddles and mix your own colors (don’t use the plain colors from the palette)
2. Layer layer layer from light watered-down colors to intensely saturated colors.
3. Let it dry! You can’t do watercolor in one shot. You need to let it dry in between some layers
4. Use WATER! Use a clean or clean-ish brush to pull or move the color around the paper.
